Last winter started a new tradition – hot chocolate when it snows! I’ve tried out a few recipes, and this one is perfect when it comes to a quick, homemade cup or pot (it’s an easy recipe to multiply). You can use any milk you have on hand (we tend to stick with 2%), and you can swap some cream in to replace a bit of the milk if you’d prefer richer. I haven’t tried, but I’m guessing you could also add a bit of bittersweet chocolate to make it even thicker.
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1-2 tbsp granulated sugar (I prefer 1 tbsp)
1 cup milk
Whisk dry ingredients together. Combine with 1/8 cup milk in small sauce pan. Whisk over medium heat until warmed through and sugar dissolves (about 1 minute). Add remaining milk and cook until warmed through. Enjoy!
